  Dr Walter Yim, O.D.

  Walter Yim, O.D. graduated with honors in 2004 from the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) in Fullerton after completing his undergraduate studies in Biopsychology at UCLA. While a student at SCCO, Dr. Yim’s clinical skills earned him the coveted Vistakon Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care. His clinical training included internships at the VA hospital medical centers in Palo Alto and in downtown Los Angeles where he gained extensive experience in working with the geriatric population. Dr. Yim is also licensed in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and is certified by the National Board of Optometry in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease which means that he is able to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of ocular conditions including allergies, infections, injuries, glaucoma, and diabetes. Dr. Yim also co-manages LASIK patients, providing consultation, pre-op, and post-op care. Like Dr. Jankowski, Dr. Yim has also undergone LASIK personally, and is able to discuss firsthand with patients the pros and cons of the procedure. Dr. Yim's special interests include glaucoma, dry eye conditions, contact lenses, and pediatrics. In his spare time Dr. Yim enjoys writing and recording music, playing golf, going to the gym, and spending time with his wife Kara, and his two sons Noah and Nathan.

  Dr Timothy C. Jankowski, OD, FAAO

  Timothy C. Jankowski, O.D., F.A.A.O. has been in private practice in Huntington Beach since 1981. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry in June 1980 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He has served as an Expert Examiner for the California State Board of Optometry and as a Clinical Examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. Dr. Jankowski is a member of the Rio Hondo Optometric Society, the California Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Before joining the Rio Hondo Optometric Society, and while a member of the Long Beach Optometric Society, Dr. Jankowski served as President (twice), Treasurer (twice), Secretary, and Membership Chairman (twice). In 1999, Dr. Jankowski was elected to the Board of Directors of Vision Service Plan (VSP), the largest vision insurance company in the United States. As of March 2010 he is serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the next two years. Dr. Jankowski is licensed in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and is certified by the National Board of Optometry in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease, which means that he is able to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of ocular conditions including allergies, infections, injuries, glaucoma, and diabetes. He has enjoyed skiing, serving as a Volunteer National Ski Patroller for 15 years. In his spare time, Dr. Jankowski can be found on the golf course.

  Dr Ryan Funai O.D.

  Ryan Funai, O.D. grew up in Huntington Beach where he attended his youth schooling at Clegg/Stacey Elementary and Marina High. Dr. Funai graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO), where he was very involved in school. During his time at SCCO, he served as the National President of the American Optometric Student Association (AOSA) advocating for laws pertaining to patient rights and safety. He has visited Sacramento and Washington DC multiple times conversing with legislators regarding these issues. Dr. Funai has worked in a variety of optometric workplaces including a community health center, multiple ophthalmology offices, and an Indian health hospital in Oklahoma. He is certified by the National Board of Optometry to treat and manage ocular diseases and is passionate about giving the top quality of care to his patients. In his free time, Dr. Funai likes to play basketball on the weekends, attend medical missions, work out at the gym, travel to his bucket list destinations, and stay connected with his close friends and family. Dr. Funai is happy to come back and work in his hometown giving back to the community that raised him!
